About This Decatur Roof Replacement
Existing Roof
The home in Decatur had an older, weathered gray shingle roof covering several connected roof planes. Aerial views show the main roof, a lower side section, front entry gable, and additional intersecting slopes around the brick exterior. The shingles appeared aged and uneven in color, with visible wear across the broad roof surfaces. White trim, brick walls, dormer-style windows, and the covered front entry shaped the roof layout and required work across multiple transitions rather than a single simple plane.
Tear-Off and Preparation
During tear-off, our crew removed the old shingles and exposed the wood roof deck across the main roof sections. The exposed deck is visible as broad sheets of wood sheathing, with workers and roofing materials positioned on the slopes. Blue tarps covered portions of the property and lower roof areas while the work was underway. A chimney, roof-to-wall intersections, gable edges, and the lower attached roof section were all visible during preparation, along with ladders, protective coverings, and cleanup equipment around the house.
New Roof Installation
The replacement roof in Decatur uses dark gray architectural-style shingles installed across the main gable and lower roof sections. The finished images show straight, evenly aligned shingle courses and clean coverage around the intersecting slopes. Matching dark shingles continue over the front entry roof and side addition, creating a consistent appearance. White edge trim remains visible along the gables and eaves, while the chimney and other roof transitions are integrated into the completed installation. A small roof vent is visible near the upper front gable.
Finished Result
The completed Decatur, GA project leaves the brick home with a uniform dark gray roof and defined, neat rooflines. The main gable, side roof, front porch cover, and lower connecting sections all appear fully shingled in the final aerial view. The roof complements the red brick, white trim, and surrounding trees without changing the home’s existing architectural character. Ladders and work materials were still visible in the final photo, while the roof itself showed continuous coverage across the visible finished areas.
